This page will introduce you to the current digital tools we will be using throughout the program to provide the fastest and most accurate information to you on behalf of the school and program, as a means for you to create and share documents as well as provide a platform from which to begin your professional career.

The Google platform is used by the program to provide a collaborative and multi-use forum for students to use. Once you are registered, you will receive an email that includes a link and instructions on accessing the Google platform and everything that it encompasses.

GBC PANDO EMAIL

The P&O program provides a gmail account. Each student has a unique email account set up for them, generally it is "firstname.lastname@gbcpando.com". This is the username that will be used on your Google Apps account.

This is the only way program correspondence will be delivered. From lecture notes, program updates, special events, class changes/cancellations, if it is P&O info, this is where you'll receive it!

There are class emails which can be used for mass correspondence and they are in the format of “firstyear.technical@gbcpando.com” and “secondyear.technical@gbcpando.com” . These can be helpful if you are looking for a roommate in the months leading up to the start of school or to create a class group on another social media platform.

George Brown College also provides an email account (see below). To make life easier you can forward that account to your gbcpando.com account so that you don't have to check both accounts.

GBC EMAIL

Every registered GBC Student is set-up with a George Brown email account for the duration of their
enrollment. Your mail.georgebrown.ca email account is a Micro Soft Exchange platform service the College uses to send out notices and other correspondence. It operates like most other email services and it's easy to forward GBC Mail to your gbcpando.com account so that you can have one central location for all school correspondence.

Google Calendar

This will be your go to calendar for the next two years. The program schedule is outlined here. Every day, class, test, project and exam is shown here and it’ll change as circumstances evolve. The instructors will add things if the need arises, due dates may shift, guest speakers may become available, etc. Its probably good to check it regularly to ensure that you are kept up to date and are aware of any upcoming due dates or tests. You can create your own personal calendar and have an option to turn it on so you can have access to not only your school calendar but your personal one for work and life. Google Drive

Google Drive

The Drive is the engine that allows google docs, slides, sheets and sites to be used. It's a system for creation, storage, delivery/sharing of documents and files and allows collaboration on them either independently or collectively live on-line, in real-time. With documents that are editable by multiple people in real time, groups can collaborate and work on projects from the comfort of their own homes. Each semester a spreadsheet will be shared with you that acts as an electronic transcript with project marks broken down with a rubric to show you how well you have done. Instructors enter marks and project feedback directly into it. Forms will be sent out in the form of self evaluations for you to fill out the pros and cons of each project submitted. These will be shared to you through gmail. Ensure that you are on your gbcpando.com email while writing them to ensure they are sent after clicking submit or else you might lose all your hard work. Forwarding the GBC Email
