Here's a great tip on how to seal frayed nylon using a red hot awl, applied in one pass.
You can also use a skiving blade.
To make low profile, tapered loop anchors you can pass nylon through a loop and glue one side. Bond, making sure one end is shorter than the other. Round off the end and seal with heated awl or skiving blade.
Note: an alcohol burner will produce a clean flame that can be used to seal the end in one pass.
